A OOAK thing I made
Happy Birthday, Barbie®!
Today's the big day - Barbie® debuted at Toy Show (now known as the American International Toy Fair) exactly 50 years ago today.
Over the last few months I've been working on some projects inspired by classic Barbie dolls. I just put up some pictures of one - Swim & Fun Barbie - on my Flickr account.
I really wanted to make a basic playline "swimsuit doll" that was reminiscent of the original "ponytail" Barbie doll from 1959. (And, for the record, I started working on this last year, way before the announcements about the Bathing Suit Doll. )
