As part of Barbie®'s 50th anniversary celebration, Italian carmaker Fiat created two special Barbie-themed Fiat 500 show cars (which you can read about here, here, and here).
Not surprisingly, there's also going to be a tie-in Barbie doll packaged with a miniature Fiat 500 car. The car in this photo is white - unlike the real Fiat 500 Barbie Edition, which has (of course ) a hot pink exterior. I guess we have to wait and see if the production version ends up more closely resembling the real-life car.
This set is supposedly going to be available around September, although it may come out sooner than that. I'm not sure which regions it's going to be sold in - real Fiat 500's aren't sold in the United States, so the doll set may not be available there.
By the way - like a lot of upcoming dolls, the doll in this picture has the 1998 Barbie "Generation Girl®" head sculpt. This may indicate that the production doll with have the new open-mouth Barbie sculpt (which you can read about here) if it turns out the 1998 head is being used as a placeholder for that one.
